Thailand is an exotic colourful country with jungle clad mountains, mighty rivers, magnificent temples, vibrant nightlife and some of the best beaches in the far east.
The holiday starts with two days in a very stylish, friendly, first class hotel in Bangkok. "The venice of the orient". The hotel is in a convenient location between the river and famous entertainment district of Patpong, where exotic East blends with the modern West - a mix of magnificent temples and the neon lights of bars and restaurants, a lively and contrasting mix of cultures with something for everyone. During your visit you can also explore rural Bangkok by boat and see the fascinating way of life along the waterways known as Klongs.
After Bangkok you fly down to Phuket and spend the next five days cruising and exploring the Similian and Surin islands in the Andaman sea, aboard the Chinese/Malay, converted sailing boat, The Junk. The area is famed for being the most fabulous place to dive in the whole of Asia and consists of nine uninhabited granite islands with deserted sandy coves, in a forestry and fishing reserve covering an area of 331 square Kilometeres. Underwater, the gentle currents and generally easy diving conditions are perfect for the least experienced divers. You will do 3 to 4 dives per day, Highlights of our last trip included the Manta rays, Guitar Sharks and sea horses. The crew is excellent, you never set up or dismantle your equipment, the food is superb, varied and apparently never ending and the boat itself is beautiful, especially when cruising and the sails are up.
After the cruise you will be transferred to the beautiful tropical island of Phi Phi where we will spend the next five days relaxing at the Palm beach resort, a picturesque resort and "by far the best hotel on the island" according to the Sunday Times.
