Relax on the sunny tropical island of Vilamendhu and dive among the beautiful reefs of the south Ari atoll. This corner of Ari Atoll has what is usually recognized as among the best diving in the Atoll. November is one of the calmest periods and the water a constant 28 degrees,
Much of the diving is drift diving, Reef fish are prolific and not as timid as in other areas. Larger deep ocean fish can also be present as well as Grey, nurse and White tip sharks and as on previous trips, the occasional Whale shark and Hammerhead.
The Vilamendhu Hotel is situated at the south of the Ari-Atoll. Just 25 minutes by sea plane from the airport, It is 900m long and 300m wide. Thanks to careful planning you will find undisturbed luscious tropical vegetation including palm trees, rubber trees, shrubs and bushes, mangroves and beautiful flowers in such colourful abundance that it is an exception even for the Maldives. The combined magic of snowy white beaches, crystal clear waters, dazzling blue skies and the cool shade of the evergreens will soon let you forget your everyday life.
The Diving takes place from comfortable dive boats (Dhonis). With over 40 dive sites and a fantastic house reef with many entry points, Vilamendhoo is the perfect diver's paradise for beginners and experienced divers. South of the island is a protected Marine Area - Khudarah Thila. As the island is situated between two channels you will also be able to experience channel dives with a unique amounts of pelagic species. The dive sites are between 10 Minutes and 1 hours away from the island. We will be doing two dives a day, going out by boat in the morning, returning for lunch on the island and then going out again in the afternoon.
